Milvus is a vector database written in Go and C++ for scalable similarity search across text, image, and multi-modal embeddings. It supports hardware acceleration on CPU and GPU and a Kubernetes-native distributed mode that handles tens of thousands of queries per second on billions of vectors with streaming updates. Standalone and lightweight Milvus Lite modes are available for single-machine and Python-only use. Apache 2.0 licensed, hosted by the LF AI and Data Foundation.
