Sourcegraph Cody

Cody is Sourcegraph's AI coding assistant, distinguished by its use of Sourcegraph's code search and context engine to ground responses in an organization's entire codebase, including remote repositories, rather than only the files open in an editor. It provides chat for asking questions about code, generating and editing code, autocomplete and automatic edit suggestions based on cursor position and recent changes, error fixing, and reusable custom prompts for team workflows. Extensions exist for VS Code and JetBrains IDEs, with Visual Studio support labeled experimental, alongside a web interface and a command-line client, and it connects to a range of large language models. The client code was originally developed in the open under an Apache 2.0 license, though the public GitHub repository is no longer available and the product is now positioned primarily as part of Sourcegraph Enterprise subscriptions.
