The AUTOMATIC1111 Stable Diffusion Web UI is a Gradio-based browser front end that became one of the most widely used ways to run Stable Diffusion locally. It covers text-to-image, image-to-image, inpainting, and outpainting, with prompt attention syntax, prompt editing mid-generation, negative prompts, batch processing, checkpoint merging, and upscaling through multiple neural networks. Generation parameters are stored inside output PNG or JPEG files, keeping images reproducible. It supports Stable Diffusion 1.x and 2.0 plus dedicated inpainting models, integrates helpers like the CLIP interrogator and DeepDanbooru tagging, exposes an API, and hosts a very large ecosystem of community extensions and custom scripts.
